Corn in the cob is a staple of many meals around the world. Let's face it, Thanksgiving dinner just wouldn't be the same without it. However, as we all know, it's one of the messier foods out there, despite being incredibly delicious, and taking a large bite into a piece of corn can often leave you with butter on your chin, stains on your clothes, and, most annoyingly, corn in your teeth!
But what if I told you that there was another way to eat corn on the cob - a better way. A smarter way! Would you be interested? Yes? I thought so. After all, we humans are a fairly civilized bunch, and unlike our four-legged friends, we don't want to go about our day-to-day lives with pieces of corn all up in our grills.
The origin of this incredible hack is unknown, but it was recently posted to a Twitter account for viral content, and very quickly, people around the world started to see the error of their ways.
To see how one man eats corn in a "less messy way", check out the video below:
What did I tell you? Revolutionary. And there was me thinking that you were supposed to stick the skewer that comes with corn on the cob into it like a shmuck!
Naturally, the good people of the internet had a lot to say about this incredible hack (and no doubt wondering why they hadn't thought of it themselves - such is the brilliance of its simplicity).

However, not everyone was in favor of this seemingly revolutionary hack, and the messy way of eating corn on the cob had its supporters with @kayodeltanola writing, "The messy way is better."

"Ha! The real question is will any of us try this technique the next time we are eating them!!" added @34811efe82c84ed.

Well, it turns out that someone did put this technique to the test - and the results were surprising, to say the least.
This is what happened when @scottregan2 tried to eat corn on the cob with a skewer:
In addition to this less than promising attempt at using the technique, many Twitter users were quick to point out that the hack came with a potentially dangerous flaw in the personal safety department.
"This could cause an injury in case the stick slips over the corn," noted @AboMuhnad.

Similarly, @ecgowaffle wrote:
"'911, what's your emergency?'
I got a wood skewer stuck in my hand trying to eat corn.'"

But then again, eating with a sharp knife and fork is surely just as dangerous. It just takes a bit of common sense, people!
So, what do you think of this corn on the cob hack? Is its potential safety flaw enough to put you off or will you be giving it a whirl on Christmas Day? If the answer's yes to the latter, please keep a close eye on your fingers - oh, and enjoy!
