15 Parents Who Hit The Headlines In 2018 For Very Different Reasons

They say that kids do and say the craziest things, but in actual fact, parents are equally as guilty of behaving in a bizarre way.

Thanks to social media, this has never been more apparent. Children are now all too keen to share snippets of their lives, which inevitably involve their parents in some capacity. In 2018, we have all seen a variety of videos featuring the parents of our friends and those of total strangers. From a dad pulling some cringe-inducing dance moves to a mom freaking out whilst being pranked, we have seen it all.

To highlight some of these moments, I have compiled a list of some of this year's most viral moments involving parents. Some are good, some bad and some extremely ugly. Buckle up, this is going to be a really bumpy ride...

1. The dad who pushed a kid over during a football game

In November this year, a Welsh father hit the headlines after footage taken during a children's soccer game went viral.

The clip caught the dad push the child playing the position of goalkeeper in order to save a goal. The video divided opinion with some finding it hilarious and others deeming his actions to be inappropriate.

3. The supportive dad who melted hearts

This dad's support of his son warmed even the coldest hearts this year. This is what you call proper parenting...

4. The mom who said it's okay to have a favorite child

In contrast, this mom was shamed after she went on live television to say that it's okay to have a favorite child. She broadcast that out of her three children, her youngest is her favorite.

Unsurprisingly, her comments weren't well received. The public was furious that she could say such a thing!

5. This father and son brought a tear to everyone's eye

After spending a week apart, this 53-year-old son was desperate to be reunited with his 88-year-old father, with whom he shares a particularly close bond. The heart-warming video tore up Twitter with people all around the globe shedding a tear of happiness...

6. The mom who breastfed during her hockey match half-time

This mom inspired a nation when photographs of her breastfeeding her eight-week-old baby during breaks in her hockey game went viral.

"I felt my milk come in and leak as I played and between periods I would strip down to feed my eight-week-old babe. Being a mom is absolutely amazing and I'm so happy I got to do something I absolutely love while still meeting my babies needs. Our bodies are amazing and this weekend was the first time I truly appreciated mine," said the mom.

In February this year, a new mom made headlines when sensational images of her giving birth in a hospital hallway in Manhattan, Kansas went viral.
