In days gone by, a tattooed parent would have almost certainly raised a few eyebrows. But now that 36% of Americans between 18 and 29 have at least one inking, tattooed parents are becoming increasingly normal. And well they should be! Tattoos are a legitimate art form, as we recently showcased, and they should be celebrated as such.

Tattoos have long been associated with criminality, and anyone who has a parent above, say, the age of 50, has most likely been told off at the very possibility of getting one. In fact, according to a national poll by the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan, a whopping 78% of parents said they wouldn't let their kids get inked.
So, in a bid to challenge these negative attitudes towards tattoos, we've compiled a list of gorgeous tattooed parents and their kids to show that just because you've got some ink on your skin, it doesn't make you any less of a person - or a parent.
