It's no secret that kids love decorating their rooms with Disney characters. Whether it's an Alice in Wonderland themed mural, Snow White bedcovers, or Dumbo curtains, they just can't get enough of the fairy tale powerhouse's movies.
But have you ever stopped to wonder how the stars of these movies would decorate their bedrooms? Probably not. But Alessandra Wood, Modsy's Director of Style, has, and the results are enough to inspire grownup Disney fans to incorporate a little of the movie magic into their homes!
In an interview with House Beautiful, Wood explained the thinking behind each Disney inspired design:
1. Belle's Living Room

"We aimed to create a luxurious space that encapsulated the color palette and romance of Belle. Her iconic yellow gown is recreated in this room's focal point—the beautiful Anthropologie velvet sofa and other key pieces were selected to recreate the shapes and personality of our favorite characters. The Wardrobe keeps a watchful eye over the room, while Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Lumiere are sprinkled throughout the space. Belle loved to read so, of course, we stocked the surfaces with some of her favorite novels."
2. Cinderella's Living Room

"Here, we recreated what Cinderella's living room would look like in modern times, long after marrying her Prince Charming. Regal blue, ivory and gold accents are woven throughout the room that showcases a simple yet elegant palette."
3. Elsa's Bedroom

"Elsa's story takes place in the countryside of Norway and combines features from her family's home and her ice palace. We imagined if Elsa had a modern day space, bringing elements of a winter wonderland indoors would be key, specifically through the color palette and materials. This is a cozy retreat that mimics Norwegian folk patterns, which can be found through the rug, pillows, and bed. Elsa's bedroom is a place of solitude and comfort."
4. Moana's Living Room

"We wanted to create a colorful bedroom where Moana, the island adventurer and dreamer, could come home to and chill out in – a place where she can easily relax on her own with the perfect view of the ocean. The tropical-inspired daybed and wall color with its ocean-like feel bring this space right into the world of Moana."
5. Mulan's Living Room

"We wanted Mulan's space to reflect her independent spirit, so the overall vibe strikes a balance of feminine and masculine features. Her style is totally minimal with hints of eastern-inspired Mid-Century. The rug is the centerpiece that ties the whole room together, and is both traditional and unexpected, just like Mulan."
6. Snow White's Bedroom

"If Snow White was a modern day designer, she would 100 percent be Joanna Gaines. She loves the rustic farmhouse style and is drawn to comfortable and lived-in pieces. This is her bedroom and she would have used this as the ultimate 'enchanted forest' escape, perfect for inspiring daydreams and bringing solace from the outside world."
