We are mere days away (Sunday, February 3, 2019) from watching the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots as they battle it out for a chance of winning the Lombardi Trophy.
Excited? Well, you're definitely not alone. Almost every year, the Super Bowl - that is, the NFL's annual Championship game - achieves the honour of being the highest rated show on network television. And if that wasn't enough to prove just how popular it is, well, then get this: of the ten most-watched shows of all time, four are Super Bowl games.
But while these stats are undeniably impressive, that's not to say that everyone who watches it is a hardcore fan. For many people, the Super Bowl is the only game of the season they'll be willing to dedicate any amount of time watching.
That, however, doesn't stop them from going all in when it comes to celebrating the highly anticipated event. And that is in spite of the fact that the day - usually the first Sunday in February - is not recognized as an official holiday. From lowkey gatherings to full-on parties, the Super Bowl is celebrated by people from all over the country and walks of life.

But if you happen to be a parent celebrating the Super Bowl, the chances are you're not going to be spending the day or, in fact, the lead up to it stacking up as many beers as possible with the intention of getting absolutely wasted. Instead, you'll aim to keep it wholesome and child-friendly. It's a sort of trade-off you have to when you have kids. One the one hand, you have these cute, little beings who you can love and nurture and on the other, practically all your freedom is taken away from you.
But I really wouldn't worry about all the fun you're "missing out" on because the Super Bowl is an excellent time for you to bond with your kids and arrange fun, little appropriately-themed activities.
