Valentine's crafts the kids will love to make and receive!

These Valentine's crafts are perfect for your kid to make and give to their friends and loved ones. They are quick, simple and easy to make so anyone young and old can have a go!

 

Friendship bracelet gift

You will need:

  • 6x embroidery threads 30cm long
  • Tape or safety pin
  • Card
  • Pens
  • Hole punch

 

Method:

  1. Take 6 embroidery threads and tie together at the top
  2. Tape this knot down onto a hard surface or pin to a cushion.
  3. Split them into three groups of two.
  4. Plait the three sections together till it is long enough to wrap around a wrist loosely.
  5. Tie the bracelet off.
  6. For the gift wrapping take a cut out shape of card, it could be a heart, flower, circle; anything!
  7. Punch two holes into it, one on each side.
  8. Draw your design, message or hilarious pun.
  9. Thread the bracelet through it and give it to your beloved or your bestie, we all love friendship bracelets. Heck even give it to your nemesis as a reminder that you are so very skilled and they aren’t.

 

Love letter to a Chocoholic

You will need:

  • Bar of white chocolate
  • Red or pink candy melts
  • Piping bag
  • Bowl and spoon
  • Gift bag and ribbon

 

Method:

  1. Snap a bar of chocolate into rectangles.
  2. Melt the candy melts in a bowl in 10 second bursts, stirring in between. Then put it in a piping bag. If your candy melts are too stiff to pipe then add a bit of coconut oil to make it runnier.
  3. Pipe an envelope design onto the back of the rectangle of chocolate, you can eve add a little piped heart if you are feeling fancy.
  4. Once your design is set pop it in a gift bag, tie if off with a bow and  add a message.
  5. Now you are ready to surprise your chocoholic pal!

 

Valentine’s Matchboxes

You will need:

  • Coloured card
  • Double sided tape
  • Matchboxes
  • Pens
  • Sweets

 

Method:

  1. Take a thin rectangle of coloured card and apply double sided tape to it. Wrap your matchbox up, without covering up the openings.
  2. Decorate the matchbox with doodles and fun puns
  3. Fill the matchbox with your bestie’s fave sweets or you could add non candy options such as a friendship bracelet or small toy.
  4. Now you are ready to give this to your perfect match.

 

Candy heart hand warmer

You will need:

  • Circles of felt
  • Pen
  • Red thread and needle
  • Uncooked Rice

 

Method:

  1. Take a circle of felt and draw out your design.
  2. Sew over this design with a thick stitch.
  3. Take another circle of felt in the same colour and put this on top your your design, then sew around the edge, leaving a gap.
  4. Turn it the right side out by pulling it through the gap you left.
  5. Fill with rice and and sew up.
  6. Now you have a cute hand warmer gift. For warming pop in the microwave for 30 seconds and you’ll have a toasty hands and heart!
