This Ingenious Parenting Hack Will Ensure Your Kids Always Pick Up Their Toys

The very last thing kids want to do is their chores. They're all about living the most responsibility-free and fun-filled lives possible, and have no time for anything that might sabotage this lax way of living.

Children really will avoid doing household chores at all costs, but there is a way that you can use this to your advantage.

Kids are notoriously bad at picking up their toys, but next time you try to get them to do so and they stubbornly resist, a good way of ensuring that they comply is to present them with two options: 1) Comply with the request that they pick up their toys 2) Do chores.

Of course, one might argue that if the kid in question isn't complying with what is currently expected of them, they're certainly not going to agree to do chores as an alternative.

But they might if you take their toys away from, lock them in a makeshift toy jail and propose doing chores in exchange for their release.
